What is the Adolescent Help Program?
The Adolescent Help Program of Destitute India supports young people aged roughly 11 to 20 through the confusing years of adolescence. It runs anti-tobacco and anti-alcohol workshops in schools and slums, provides counsellors to clear doubts and myths about growing up, and offers career, vocational training and skill development counselling.
Adolescence is a period in development between the onset of puberty and adulthood. It usually begins between 11 and 13 years of age and terminates at the age of 18 to 20 years. During this period, the individual undergoes extensive physical, psychological, emotional, and personality changes. This is the stage where the child is more confused than ever.
